At 79, Aubrey Bonnell of St. John's is still going strong. Every week he spends several hours driving people who are being treated for cancer back and forth to their appointments. Bonnell, who lost his wife to the disease back in 2012, felt he needed to do something to occupy his time and volunteering makes him feel good. Since taking on the role, he battled his own cancer and only took a few weeks off after surgery. Bonnell was nominated by his friend Shirley Parsons. Lori Whitten, Volunteer Coordinator at Daffodil Place says Aubrey is a hero for the countless hours he has spent helping others.
