The official kick-off to Corner Brook’s annual celebration of all things winter gets underway this evening from Margaret Bowater Park.
The opening ceremony for the Corner Brook Winter Carnival gets going from city hall this evening at 7:00 p.m. with a flag raising ceremony and torch-lit people’s parade that leads revelers toward the park. Once there, crowds will cheer the carnival mascot, Leif the Lucky, from his ‘snow hut’ marking the beginning of the ten-day festival with a fireworks display.
Events include an extensive schedule of winter activities, community gatherings, games and more.
Carnival concludes on March 1st.
