A house boat, built by an Ontario environmentalist, and last seen just weeks ago in Portugal Cove-St. Philips, has washed up on a beach in Ireland.

According to Ballyglass Coast Guard, a note was found inside the vessel purportedly from Rick Small, the Thunder Bay eco-adventurer who built the boat, offering it up to homeless youth.

The wooden boat, complete with solar panels, washed up near Cross Beach in County Mayo and has been removed by Irish authorities. It had been docked in Portugal Cove-St. Philips over the summer, and had apparently been abandoned.
