Beagle Paws is conducting a reunion today to mark a major anniversary for the organization.
Since 2003, the group has set a goal of rescuing abandoned and neglected beagles, and to raise awareness about the plight of the breed in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Now in their 15th year, the group has grown to become Canada’s largest beagle rescue organization, with chapters in Alberta and British Columbia, as well as here.
To celebrate, they’re hosting a reunion and dog walk this afternoon, and are encouraging people to bring their pooches and pledges to Bob Whelan Field in Bowring Park.
Anyone with an adopted beagle or a story to share is welcome. The event gets underway at 1:00 p.m.
