RCMP are reminding parents of the importance of educating children about stranger danger in light of a recent reported incident on the Burin Peninsula.
Police received a complaint on Monday about a 9-year-old girl being approached by a man in a pick up in St. Bernard’s. The child was walking home from school around noon when a blue extended cab pickup approached her, and the man inside offered her a ride.
The man insisted when the child refused and she ran home to her mother who called police.
The man is described as older, bald with a beard.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
