  • Bigger Financial Breaks for Craft Beverage Industry Coming Next Year

The craft beverage industry is getting a bit of a financial break from the provincial government starting in the new year.

Finance Minister Tom Osborne was joined by several craft beverage producers at the Dildo Brewing Company in Dildo to reveal the coming changes.

Government is increasing the discounts to the remissions paid by craft beverage facilities for beer, spirits, cider and non-grape wine produced. Essentially offering local producers a bigger discount on the normal markup paid to the NLC.

The percentage will depend on the product. However, the discount will be as high as 40 per cent on product sold at retail locations and through the NLC, and 50 per cent for product sold at producer-owned facilities.

The changes will align the province with other areas of the country, something Minister Osborne feels is important.
