Government is confident that Bishop Feild Elementary will be ready for occupancy come next January.
The school has been vacant for almost a year-and-a-half because of structural issues, and parents are complaining that it’s taking too long to repair the school. Students have been going to the old School for the Deaf on Topsail Road.
The final public tender for Bishop Feild has been called.
The contractor will complete the repairs, install new ceilings, remove the boiler room and brick chimney, repair and upgrade aspects of the exterior, renovate the gym and provide an alternate exit, and overhaul the electrical including the installation of new L.E.D. lighting.
