It’s blustery in some parts of the island this morning with delayed openings of schools and other facilities.
There’s not a lot of snow in the forecast – no more than 10 cm – but the winds are picking up and causing visibility issues in parts of eastern and central Newfoundland as well as the southern Avalon.
PAL Airlines and Aerospace meteorologist Brian Walsh expects about 5-8 cm in metro but the winds will be gusting to 70 km/h this afternoon and tonight.
Meanwhile, another storm set to batter the Maritimes early this week will fizzle out by the time it hits Newfoundland mid-week. The snow, about 5-10 cm, will turn to rain.
