A player in the craft beer industry says they’re behind other provinces but are beginning to make up ground.
Chris Conway, who founded Newfoundland Beer History in 2012 and now runs newfoundlandbeer.org, will soon open Landwash Brewery in Mount Pearl. He’s aiming for December 6.
The craft beverage industry is getting a bit of a financial break from the government starting in the new year, thanks to changes announced earlier this week at the Dildo Brewing Company in Trinity Bay.
This, at a time when there is a proliferation of new breweries coming on stream in the province. Conway says Nova Scotia has about 50 such breweries but Newfoundland is on the move.
He says we had our 10th and 11th breweries open recently in Bay Roberts and in Cormack. He hopes to become number 12, then three more are expected to open by January.
