A business owner on the Burin Peninsula says forget Muskrat Falls – light bills are too expensive already.
Randell Prior says he owns a vacant, unfinished building. Prior says he has been shocked by the bills he’s been receiving lately from Newfoundland Power.
He says for his most recent bill, he had his heaters on 15 for two weeks, and 12 for two weeks. He says the total of his bill was $621.59, plus tax. Prior questions where the people of the province are going to get the money to pay these bills, and says he won’t be able to afford it once Muskrat Falls comes on-stream.
He says there’s nothing in his building except for a few LED lights, and a few heaters on low.
