A former Canada Post employee who admits to stealing mail has been sentenced to three-months house arrest.
Tammy Scott was delivering mail on September 5, 2017, when she swiped a Walmart gift card she could feel inside the envelope. Video surveillance inside a local Walmart shows Scott using the gift card the very next day.
Scott entered a guilty plea to one count of theft of mail.
This morning Judge Jacqueline Brazil accepted a joint submission before the court of three months house arrest, followed by nine months probation.
Tammy Scott no longer works for Canada Post. The facts say she was caught on camera using a Walmart gift card she had taken from mail she was delivering. Incident happened Sept 5, 2017. Scott told the judge there would be “no more time wasted on me in the courts.” @VOCMNEWS

Brazil told Scott this theft was a serious breach of trust against the Canadian public. Scott must stay on her property, be of good behaviour, report to corrections, and stay away from alcohol or drugs.
The former Canada Post employee says this happened while she was in the midst of disease, and told Judge Brazil no more time would be wasted on her in the courtroom.
