Capelin are rolling in Middle Cove Beach, and the Town of Logy Bay-Middle Cove-Outer Cove is asking residents to keep safety in mind when visiting local beaches.
Excitement is in the air, as reports are coming in that capelin have arrived at the popular haunt, but a significant increase in traffic and congestion have sparked safety concerns in the area.
Visitors are reminded to reduce their speeds on nearby roads, and to obey parking signs and regulations throughout the area.
Mayor Bert Hickey says visitors will see security and parking attendants while the capelin are rolling, and illegally parked vehicles will be ticketed or towed.
While thousands are expected to take part in the annual capelin run, the town is asking that everyone keep safety as their priority when seeking capelin.
