A doctor at the Health Sciences Centre says the new next-generation cardiac ultrasound machines will have a huge impact on cardiac patients province-wide.
Capital Auto Group donated $440,000 to the Health Care Foundation that will help enhance cardiac services through the purchase of two cardiac ultrasound systems.
A cardiac ultrasound provides detailed images that help in diagnosis, treatment and follow-up in patients with any suspected or known heart disease.
Dr. Sean Connors says they can now bring cutting-edge technology to their patients. He says patients can now be assured they will get the same type of testing as any other cardiac centre in Canada.
Tom Legrow is longtime cardiac patient who has received a heart transplant and has used these ultrasound systems a number of times.
Tom Legrow is now touching on his own heart transplant experiences and the difference cardiac team here at the HSC made in his life. He is touching on how important donations like these are to the people of the province. @VOCMNEWS pic.twitter.com/ORuuYSWfJ5

He says it makes life a lot easier. Legrow says it has no impact on your body. You just lie there and the doctor can get whatever they need.
