Not only is today the start of the St. John’s Edge Playoff run, two major awards have been announced for members of the organization.
Newfoundland’s own Carl English has been named the National Basketball League of Canada’s MVP.
English is the team scoring leader with an average of 23.9 points per game, and scored a league record 58 points just last month in a game against the Titans.
The Edge’s Jeff Dunlap was also honoured with a top league award, the Ian Fowler Executive of the Year Award.
Dunlap is the General Manager and Head Coach of the Edge.
