Fans of the St. John’s Edge Basketball Team are breathing a sigh of relief today as star player Carl English announced his intentions for the upcoming season.
The National Basketball league MVP made things official this afternoon and confirmed his return to the Edge’s roster as shooting guard.
English says he thought the word was already out until his brother asked him if he would be hitting the courts this year.
Over the summer, the 37-year-old switched things up and joined the executive as an interim manager, a role he says he enjoyed immensely.
With roughly two month before the season kicks off, English has been busy training but he admits it wasn’t an automatic decision to return to the court.
English says it depends on how his body feels now that he is a veteran player. He attributes his in-depth training regime for helping him stay in peak physical condition to play ball.
