Nearly 100 cats have found homes after a drive by the City of St. John’s to convince people to adopt a feline.
The city says 95 cats have been adopted, reducing the number at the humane shelter to 57.
One anonymous donor walked in with a cheque for $3,000 to help cover the costs for people who were interested in having a cat. That allowed 50 families to adopt a cat.
The city cut adoption fees in half over the past few weeks in order to find homes for the pets.
