The CEO of Central Health has resigned.
In a prepared release this morning the Authority made the announcement concerning CEO Rosemarie Goodyear’s departure. An interim CEO will be announced in the coming weeks, with recruitment for a new CEO to be completed through the Independent Appointments Commission.
Last week the province’s Health Minister, John Haggie, ordered a review of the Central Health Authority because of ongoing issues between the Board of Directors and senior staff.
Also, the Citizen’s Representative, Barry Fleming says his office began an internal investigation in December based on complaints they heard from a number of patients in Gander and Grand Falls-Windsor.
Fleming says he met with patients last fall, heard their complaints, and as a result proceeded with their own investigation.
He says they identified seven areas of concerns. However, depending on the scope of the province’s review, they may now step back.
