Choices For Youth says the challenges faced daily by the 1,500 plus young people they see every year are often magnified during the holiday season.
Lack of support, lack of affordable housing, and lack of opportunities are just some of the challenges young people face. As a response, Choices For Youth has launched its “Home for the Holidays” campaign, which helps the organization meet the increasing needs of vulnerable young people in St. John’s and the province.
Last year, CFY served over 21,000 meals, sheltered 36 youth in supportive housing, provided emergency shelter for 118 people and supported 62 moms and 90 kids to build healthier family units.
The Home for the Holidays campaign runs until Christmas day. For more information and how to donate visit the Home for the Holidays website.
When you give to CFY, you are helping young people throughout NL:
*$25 provides a week of warm meals for a young person
*$50 outfits our emergency shelter with new bedding
*$100 covers a 30-day bus pass for a youth
