A Cougar helicopter is back in St. John’s after a warning light caused the crew to turn around.
Cougar Helicopter flight 441 was en route to the Henry Goodrich with 10 passengers on board when the landing gear indicator light went off.
As a safety precaution the crew elected to turn around and return to St. John’s.
Another of the company’s aircraft left St. John’s just before 3:00 pm to escort the chopper back to the airport.
Despite the warning light an emergency landing was not called for.
Police, firefighters and paramedics were on scene when the chopper made its landing.
The aircraft made it back without incident and no one was injured in the ordeal.
