CUPW President Craig Dyer is looking for public support in the union’s ongoing negotiations with Canada Post.
Dyer says they have spent two-years now trying to negotiate pay equity for women and rural letter carriers. The bargaining unit in question is at the Kenmount Road depot.
He says there is still a big discrepancy, and called it fundamentally wrong and upsetting.
He says if you post two pay stubs next to each other, it’s evident, but he says the employer will argue otherwise.
Dyer says they have organized a rally for Saturday, March 24th. at 11:00 a.m. at the Supreme Court on Duckworth Street. He says no one should be paid differently for doing the same job.
He hopes to see everyone out – not just union workers – in support of women, family, and workers.
