Rainbows can be a rare enough, but an unusual one that appeared in this evening’s sky had people in the metro area doing double takes.
As the sun was going down, a brilliant rainbow lit up the southern skies. With little precipitation during the day, the oddly-shaped rainbow grabbed people’s attention.
Shortly after, photos from around the metro area rained down on social media, as folks enjoyed the temporary treat.
Coincidentally, this wasn’t the only rainbow popping up in the metro area in recent days. Preparations for Pride Week celebrations have been brightening up towns with rainbow flags, crosswalks, benches, decorations and more.
Pride Week runs from July 15 to 21 in St. John’s.
