Members of Team Gushue were honoured again last night at a gala held by Bally Haly Golf and Curling Club. It was an emotional event for Skip Brad Gushue who recalled questioning his future in the sport five years ago when he went 0-7 at a tournament in Moose Jaw. He says it was his wife who gave him the drive and perspective to move on.
About 200 people gathered to pay tribute to the newly crowned world champions. In the last few weeks, Team Gushue won the Brier here on home ice and the World Championship in Edmonton.
Toby McDonald was a member of the only other crew from Newfoundland and Labrador to win a Brier. He says what team Gushue accomplished in recent weeks is the result of years of hard work and dedication.
