  • Dole Baby Spinach Recalled Due to Possible Contamination

A brand of spinach being distributed in this province is under recall due to possible listeria contamination.

Dole Fresh Vegetables Inc. is recalling Dole brand Baby Spinach with Tender Reds.

The 142-gram packages of spinach under recall were sold in Newfoundland and Labrador, P.E.I., New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario, and possibly elsewhere throughout the country.

The recalled product comes in a hard plastic shell packaging with a best before date of August 4.

As per Health Canada, food contaminated with Listeria may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick.

Symptoms can include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness. Pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk.
