The early winter in metro also means an early winter parking ban.
The ban wasn’t to be implemented until early January but back to back snowfalls are causing problems for crews trying to clear the streets.
As a result, vehicles outside the downtown will have to be off the street beginning Wednesday night. For the uptown and most of downtown, the ban will be in effect from 12:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. starting first thing Thursday.
The parking ban on sections of Water Street (Waldegrave Street to Prescott Street) and Duckworth Street (New Gower Street to Cochrane Street) will be in effect from 4:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. daily.
The City of St. John’s says vehicles found in violation will be ticketed and/or towed, despite current conditions.
