The Eastern Regional Service Board has won an international award for innovative technology.
The Solid Waste Association of North America’s Silver Excellence Award was presented to the Eastern Service Board for their Clarenville Transfer Station.
Clarenville’s Transfer Station opened in January and can accommodate 10,500 tonnes of waste.
It has the capacity to store a full day’s worth of collected waste which allows people to safely drop off their garbage and recyclables.
