Young adults are getting an opportunity for community-based employment through a new provincial government initiative.
Linkages helps young people, age 18 to 30, gain employment from non-profit, community-based organizations for a 26-week work placement.
The program is designed for thosse who have completed a minimum of Level II high school, but have not completed post-secondary education or have not transitioned into the workforce.
Through Linkages, these people can gain the experience and counselling to return to school or the work-force.
About $1.8-million in joint provincial and federal funding is going toward the project. Last year, 38 community organizations were funded resulting in 210 work placements.
The deadline for applications is July 11th and you can apply online.
