The first of four employment assistance services offices was officially opened in Grand Falls-Windsor yesterday.
Employment OPTIONS employs six people including director Rosalind Strickland, and has been in operation since July 23rd.
The office services the Exploits region including Grand Falls-Windsor, Botwood, Norris Arm, Buchans and Badger.
Area MHA and Minister of Advanced Education, Skills and Labour, Al Hawkins was on hand for the opening and says more offices will be opening in other areas of the province in the not-too-distant future.
Other centres will open in St. John’s and Corner Brook and depending on demand, other larger centres could open in the province. The office will provide services like job training, resume writing and job counselling for those on EI benefits.
