A fire advisory is in effect for the City of Corner Brook due to dry and hot conditions.
The Corner Brook Fire Department has issued an advisory for Corner Brook that all permit burning within the municipal boundaries of the City is banned, and all outstanding permits are suspended until further notice.
Approved, recreational, backyard fire pits with appropriate screen are allowed, but are not to be used to burn debris or yard waste like twigs and leaves.
Corner Brook Fire Services are asking residents to use caution when using approved fire pits and when enjoying a leisure activity, such as a backyard barbecue or fire, please be responsible, diligent and safe.

This advisory includes charcoal barbecues, as well as recreational fires in campgrounds and parks.
The Fire Department is asking residents to keep a garden hose nearby, connected and ready to use, safely douse the fire when finished, watch the wind direction and never leave fires unattended.
Corner Brook Fire Services will continue to monitor the situation and thanks residents for their cooperation.
The advisory will remain in effect until further notice.
