The RNC Criminal Investigation Division is investigating after a firearm was discharged during a home invasion at a St. John’s residence Thursday.
RNC officers, along with Forensic Identification Services and Police Dog Services responded to a call of a disturbance at a home on Penneywell Road around 4:00 p.m. yesterday.
During the altercation between the suspects and the occupants, a firearm was discharged.
Paramedics from Eastern Health attended the scene and transported the victims to the hospital. They were treated for non-life threatening injuries that were not related to the firearm.
The suspects fled before police arrived on the scene.
Investigators have been searching the neighborhood and are interested in speaking with anyone who may have been in the area of Penneywell Road between 3:45 p.m. and 4:05 p.m. Thursday, and have CCTV footage and/or dashcam video.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the RNC, or Crime Stoppers.
No arrests have yet been made.
