Meteorologists are keeping their eyes on the skies as a system is threatening a possible snow storm in eastern Newfoundland later this week.
PAL Airlines and Aerospace Meteorologist Brian Walsh says there will be a few quiet days before the system arrives, but whether it will bring heavy snowfall is the question.
Walsh says he’s hesitant to estimate snowfall amounts, as there’s potential for the system to change by the time it arrives in this province.
He says the forecast shows potential for significant snowfall for Eastern Newfoundland, particularly the Avalon, starting Thursday evening. If that’s the case, it will be the first major snowfall for the region this season.
However, depending on the direction the system tracks, it could mean snow, rain, or not much precipitation at all.
Walsh says there’s still some time before the numbers become certain, but encourages everyone to keep an eye on the forecast.
