The Canadian Walk for veterans is already a fixture in eight Canadian cities, and this year there will be one in St. John’s for the first time.
It’s an opportunity to walk shoulder to shoulder with veterans. Aaron Bedard is a disabled combat veteran who has been doing advocacy work for the past six or seven years.
Bedard says veterans in this province face a lot of challenges just as those do in other provinces. Organizing the inaugural walk has had its challenges, but he says organizers will have a full year to organize the walk for next year.
The walk takes place on Sunday, June 3rd at Quidi Vidi Lake with registration at 9:30. More information can be found here.
