The Green Party seems to be gaining momentum across most of the country but not so in Newfoundland and Labrador.
After their byelection win on the west coast, the federal Green Party now has two members of parliament. Provincially, the Green Party has formed the official opposition in Prince Edward Island and is making gains in other provinces but they don’t have any candidates in tomorrow’s provincial election in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Marlene Wells, the Atlantic organizer with the Green Party of Canada, is originally from Newfoundland. She expects to have candidates in this province next time around. Wells also expects to field a full slate in NL for the federal election.
She says they are the only party that really stands for climate change.
Wells notes that that is not their only issue as they have hundreds of policies covering various areas and topics.
