  • VIDEO Growlers Win First Road Game

    The Newfoundland Growlers are off to a good start on the road.

    The Growlers defeated the Manchester Monarchs by a score of 4-1 Friday night.

    Deerian Plouffe scored the Growlers’ first goal in the first period, marking his first pro goal. St. John’s native, Marcus Power, picked up his first pro goal in the second.

    The Monarchs managed to score one goal in third before the Growlers scored a pair of empty netters late in the period to seal the win.

    The team continues their 18-day road trip in Maine on Sunday afternoon when they take on the Mariners.
