A Halifax-class navy ship is going home after spending a couple of days its namesake port of St. John’s.
H-M-C-S St. John’s is expected to return to its home port of Halifax on Monday after a six-month deployment in the Baltic Sea, Northern Atlantic and the Mediterranean Sea.
The return concludes its participation in a NATO training mission called Operation REASSURANCE and marks the last scheduled operational deployment of the C-H-1-2-4 Sea King Helicopter.
H-M-C-S Ville de Quebec left Halifax’s naval base on Wednesday to relieve H-M-C-S St. John’s of duty. HMCS St. John’s arrived in St. John’s Harbour Wednesday morning.
