A group of 70 students from Holy Spirit High have quite an accomplishment under their belts.
The students in Holy Spirit’s PE 3100 class successfully completed the 10.5-hour hike to The Spout, one of the highlights on the East Coast Trail. It’s estimated that the students made over 410,000 steps to get to the geographic landmark.
The Spout, which is several kilometres south of Petty Harbour, is an area made famous for the water that sprays up through an opening in the rock. The hike is a major destination for hikers on the East Coast Trail because of its challenging nature and its spectacular payoff.
