Chair of the Board of Directors with Hope Air, Jim Burton, told the breakfast this morning that the reality is, most advanced medical specialists are in St. John’s, meaning some patients have to travel extraordinary distances to get the care they need.
He says 91 per cent of our doctors are in urban centres, but people in St. Anthony or Goose Bay or anywhere rural need and deserve health care too and have to travel to get it.
