  • Hope Air Raising Funds, Spirits at Annual Breakfast

The 2nd annual Hope Air Ham, Eggs and Hope Breakfast at the Holiday Inn in St. John’s is being hailed as a success.

Hope Air allows people on the Northern Peninsula and Labrador travel back and forth to St. John’s for medical treatment.

Chair of the Board of Directors with Hope Air, Jim Burton, told the breakfast this morning that the reality is, most advanced medical specialists are in St. John’s, meaning some patients have to travel extraordinary distances to get the care they need.

He says 91 per cent of our doctors are in urban centres, but people in St. Anthony or Goose Bay or anywhere rural need and deserve health care too and have to travel to get it.
