The Labour Relations Board hearings begin today as part of the lengthy process in FISH-NL’s attempts to represent fish harvesters in the province as a union.
It’s been nearly 20 months since FISH-NL made its application to the Labour Relations Board for certification. The hearing will help determine whether a certification vote will be held.
The president of FISH-NL, Ryan Cleary, says they had hoped to live-stream the hearing, but were denied. He says the hearings are open to the public.
Doors open at 9:00 a.m. at the former School for the Deaf on Topsail Road.
