The 2019 Labrador Winter Games are officially underway.
Opening ceremonies, including the lighting of the games torch, took place Sunday evening at the EJ Broomfield Memorial Arena in Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
Premier Dwight Ball was on hand along with the region’s four MHAs. A number spoke to the crowd before the competing teams were introduced.
The Labrador Winter Games are held every three years and feature traditional and modern sports and skill competitions.
