Eastbound Park in Avondale will conclude its season with a bang this weekend.
Mike James, director of events for the park, says this is expected to be a big year.
He says the anticipation has been building all year, with teams from all across the province competing for the NX and Nascar Championships. He says they are running down a double header finale, along with a Parts for Trucks 150 race Saturday and then Sunday, the Wounded Warriors 75 Memorial Race Day in memory of Dennis Weir and Chris Ryan.
Eastbound is a three-eighth mile track and only one of four Nascar tracks in Canada. James says the province has come a long way in only a few years with the sport.
James says Eastbound has big names attending to compete in the races, including Josh Collins. He says there will be over 90 cars from four different divisions.
This weekend will see numerous charities supported as well, including VOCM Cares’ Coats for Kids Campaign. Kids under 12 will receive free admission with every winter coat donated.
