A construction crane working at the Muskrat Falls site toppled over this morning.
Nalcor says there were no serious injuries as a result, and Astaldi Canada has suspended its day shift and launched a full investigation into the incident.
The 110-tonne crane toppled over onto a worker lunchroom at the site, crushing it. There was no one in the trailer at the time.
The operator was taken to hospital in Happy Valley-Goose Bay for assessement. His injuries are not believed to be serious.
Astaldi Canada says Capital Crane was completing work to dismantle another crane when it tipped over on its side. The company is working with its sub-contractor, Capital Crane and Nalcor in investigating the incident.
Nalcor says it will ensure that a full safety investigation is completed and that the contractor and its workers implement all safety recommendations that might be identified.
