Local entrepreneurs Brenda O’Reilly and Craig Flynn have finalized the purchase of one of the province’s most iconic historic structures.
The pair is hoping to develop the former Roman Catholic Cathedral in Harbour Grace into a restaurant, hotel and spa, conference centre, brewery and beer garden.
O’Reilly and Flynn already have building restoration experience under their belts. They received a Southcott Award for their work in preserving the historic Yellowbelly Brewery in downtown St. John’s.
Bishop Anthony Daniels of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Grand Falls and Harbour Grace says they are pleased that the new owners are committed to undertaking a thorough restoration of the building.
