St. John’s based Kraken Sonar has announced the successful completion of the first phase of sea trials for its KATFISH towed Synthetic Aperture Sonar system.
President and CEO Karl Kenny calls it an exciting time in the underwater robotics industry.
He says customers are starting to understand the cost benefits and risk mitigation of unmanned underwater systems.
Phase Two testing will now get underway. When finished, the KATFISH system will undergo final Factory Acceptance Testing with shipment to Kraken’s customer planned for next month.
