A new play by a St. John’s playwright about a man living with a physical disability who turns his back on life has captured an award at a festival in the maritimes.
“Crippled” by playwright and actor Paul David Power won the award for outstanding production at the 2017 Fundy Fringe Festival in Saint John on the weekend.
He says the play was being talked about throughout the festival everywhere one went.
The Fundy Fringe Festival is a week-long theatre festival that welcomes regional, national and international acts.
“Crippled” will continue development this fall with a formal premiere at the LSPU Hall in St. John’s in February.
In addition to Power, the cast consists of: Steve Ryan and Cody Bolton. It was directed by JB Vanier and stage managed by Dallas Burns.
