People looking forward to May 24 should be prepared for a blustery, white weekend at the cabin.
While sun and clouds have graced the island today PAL Airlines and Aerospace Meteorologist, Brian Walsh, says not to expect the same for the long weekend.
A low moving in from the west will see possible thundershowers Friday night before temperatures drop.
Snow is expected to begin Saturday morning in Labrador and the Northern Peninsula, eventually moving across the island and making its way to the Avalon by Saturday night.
Though the Avalon is looking at wet snow Saturday night and Sunday with little accumulation, Western and Central are not so lucky. 5-10 cm of snow is expected to drop on the west coast and northern central Newfoundland while 15 cm or more is expected to fall on the Northern Peninsula and Southeastern Labrador.
Mother Nature is also tossing in some strong winds on Sunday across the province for good measure in the 80 km/h range.
