NDP leader Earle McCurdy is stepping down as leader of the party as of the end of September.
A former President of the FFAW, Earl McCurdy became leader of the NDP in the province in 2015, but failed to win a seat in the last general election.
McCurdy says mid-way through the term, it’s crucial to know who will lead the party into the 2019 general election.
After serious reflection, McCurdy says he felt it was the best time for him, his family and the party to step down now.
MHA Gerry Rogers has already announced she intends to seek the leadership.
