A contender for Councillor-At-Large in the St. John’s are says someone is tampering with her signs, but not to undermine her campaign.
Debbie Hanlon says she chose large, 8×4 signs for the election, and they’re propped up on wooden frames. Someone is stealing the lumber.
She says someone called her about her sign being down. She thought it was the wind until someone went down to take a look for her.
Hanlon says someone is going around with a drill, taking apart the signs. It’s going to cost hundreds or thousands to replace. Hanlon says if people want the lumber, they don’t have to steal it—just wait until after the election and then ask her for it.
