  • MUN Entrepreneurship Centre Gets Major Funding Boost

Memorial University’s Centre for Entrepreneurship launched today with a significant chunk of funding from government.

The Centre is scheduled to open on May 17 and it is well on it way after the federal government announced a $486,000 contribution. The Provincial Government has committed to match the figure, making the total contribution close to $1-million.

The Centre is already functioning as a place where entrepreneurs can develop and foster ideas while completing their degree.

Engineering students Peter Dawe and Viktor Jónsson created a virtual reality video game called ‘Escape VR’ where the participant dons a high tech head gear to play.

Dawe says the University is rising to the meet the needs of students through the creation of the Centre.
