The president and CEO of Nalcor is not fond of attaching numbers to rate mitigation plans. He says there are too many uncertainties including the weather and the cost of oil to deliver firm numbers.
Stan Marshall told the Inquiry on Friday that he advised government finance officials against putting out numbers as Nalcor has no way of knowing costs or cost-savings.
Finance officials went with $200-million in the budget. Marshall says there are too many variables. It depends on many things including the Labrador-Island Link, the weather in Newfoundland and Nova Scotia, and the price of fuel.
