The date is officially set for the grand opening of the St. John’s Farmer’s Market.
After more than five years of planning and development, and nine months of renovations, as of July 21st, the doors will open to the city-owned 14,000 square-foot facility that is the City’s first permanent market space.
In mid-June, the Farmer’s Market Cooperative will take over the building, that includes a commercial kitchen, community room, cafe, dining area, outdoor plaza and much more.
Visitors can expect a much-improved market experience when they’re held every Saturday from 9-4 and every Wednesday from 2-8 with the facility serving as a community space and rental venue during the rest of the week.
Executive Director Ann Connors is leading the charge for the new market, located at 245 Freshwater Road.
The grand opening on Saturday, July 21st, will kick off a weekend of celebrations that will highlight the flexible and creative uses for the space.
