  • NL Government Wants to Know Why People are Leaving Province

The Provincial Government is launching a new program to better understand why people are leaving Newfoundland and Labrador, and what would make them want to come back.

Education, Skills and Labour Minister Al Hawkins announced the start of a new expatriate outreach program this week.

Memorial University will get $22,800 from the provincial Labour Market Partnerships program to hold four expatriate outreach events in Canada and the United Kingdom.

Ottawa-based Goss Gilroy Inc. will conduct a survey as part of the program.

The goal is to better understand why expatriates have left the province and gain insight into what would entice them and their families to return.

The first event in planned for this Sunday, February 25 in Ottawa.

The survey can be completed online by clicking here.
